In Memoriam: Christopher, Baron of Pitcaple

The Baronage of Scotland Association offers its sincere condolences to the family of The Much Honoured Christopher Burges-Lumsden of Pitcaple, Baron of Pitcaple, who died on 15 October 2026, aged 89.

Born on 1 June 1937, he was the only son of Captain Patrick Burges-Lumsden and his wife Margaret, of Pitcaple Castle in Aberdeenshire. He succeeded his mother as head of the family of Pitcaple in 1982.

His wife, Pernille, died in 2024. He was the father of Jamie, Marina and Anna, and the grandfather of Minnie, Honor, Tom, Bertie, Sacha, Imogen, Ewan, Eliza and Rose.

His funeral will be held at Bennachie Parish Church, Chapel of Garioch, at 11.30am on 4 November 2026. Family flowers only.
