In Memoriam: Michael, Baron of Horsbrugh
Died
The Baron of Horsbrugh
The Baronage of Scotland Association offers its sincere condolences to the family of The Much Honoured Michael Chenery of Horsbrugh, Baron of Horsbrugh, who died at his home in North Creake, near Fakenham, Norfolk, in June 2026.
He gave many years to public service in Norfolk. First elected to West Norfolk district council in 1987, he sat as the Conservative county councillor for the Docking division from 2009 until 2026. He chaired the Norfolk Records Committee from 2019 and was a strong supporter of the Norfolk Record Office.
For more than thirty years he worked in the NHS as a senior community mental health practitioner.
Colleagues across the parties remembered him as widely liked and respected, a man who always had time for people.
May he rest in peace.
